Think: the smell of trees, a cozy studio full of fabric and paper, and a group of kind, art-loving humans coming together to stitch, paint, and make something meaningful.
Retreat Among the Trees with BB and Andrea is four full days of creativity, connection, and messy joy—plus snacks, laughter, and open play time. It’s the kind of retreat we’d want to go to ourselves (so we made it happen).
I appreciated the individual support of BB and Andrea on my projects - the "creative coaching" that can only happen in person. Online classes are fun, but to be able to have personalized suggestions was a gift!

Drop by for light snacks, refreshments, and a relaxed open house in the studio.
Meet your fellow retreaters, explore the space, and ease into the experience.
No pressure - just time to connect and settle in before the magic begins.

We’ll warm up with color palettes, eco printing, fabric dyeing, and layered mark-making
You’ll explore new techniques, gather materials, and prep surfaces for larger work.

Expect bold brushstrokes, intuitive layering, and lots of creative freedom as we work BIG.
Spend half the day working on large paper with Andrea, and the other half on raw canvas with BB.

We’ll start assembling our journals - layering canvas covers and selecting pages.
You’ll explore interactive elements, fabric as page material, stitching, and embellishments.
With guidance from both BB and Andrea, you’ll start shaping a journal that feels like you.
We’ll bind our journals and tie it all together with a few gentle creative prompts.
You’ll have space to reflect, add finishing touches, and begin working inside your journal.
We’ll wrap the retreat with open studio time and a heartfelt goodbye - until next time.
In a grey world, I felt like I saw color again for a few days. And I took some of that home with me too.

The entire value of the this event was of great value, the expertise for teaching, and the patience, and variety of products provided to all the participants was extraordinary! The connection with other creatives, helped me more than I expected. I inched more everyday to more self acceptance of myself in this beautiful creative space.

Wonderful retreat. It surpassed my expectations in every area. The nature was more beautiful than the pictures, the art content taught me so much, wonderful for both a beginner or advanced mixed media artists, the food was so healthy and delicious, the hospitality blew me away, and the camaraderie of women artists is healing. I walked away with new ideas, new friends, and a spark in my heart and creativity that was missing.
