Retreat Among the Trees with BB and Andrea is four full days of creativity, connection, and messy joy—plus snacks, laughter, and late-night studio time. It’s the kind of retreat we’d want to go to ourselves (so we made it happen).

Welcome Evening

Wed, October 15

Drop by for light snacks, refreshments, and a relaxed open house in the studio.

Meet your fellow retreaters, explore the space, and ease into the experience.

No pressure - just time to connect and settle in before the magic begins.

DAY ONE

Thurs, October 16

We’ll warm up with color palettes, eco printing, fabric dyeing, and layered mark-making

You’ll explore new techniques, gather materials, and prep surfaces for larger work.

A midday outing to local food trucks + the Bins adds a playful, explorative energy to the day.

DAY TWO

Fri, October 17

Expect bold brushstrokes, intuitive layering, and lots of creative freedom as we work BIG.

Spend half the day working on large paper with Andrea, and the other half on raw canvas with BB.

DAY THREE

Sat, October 18

We’ll start assembling our journals - layering canvas covers and selecting pages.

You’ll explore interactive elements, fabric as page material, stitching, and embellishments.

With guidance from both BB and Andrea, you’ll start shaping a journal that feels like you.

DAY FOUR

Sun, October 19

We’ll bind our journals and tie it all together with a few gentle creative prompts.

You’ll have space to reflect, add finishing touches, and begin working inside your journal.

We’ll wrap the retreat with open studio time and a heartfelt goodbye - until next time.

Brooke Henry

Creative Play Facilitator and Chief Curator of BB Henry Art

Brooke is a mixed media artist and teacher who’s all about stitching outside the lines. She’s known for turning scraps into magic and helping artists let go of perfection so they can create with curiosity and joy. You’ll find her guiding playful experiments with paper, fabric, and thread—expect intuitive techniques, creative permission slips, and a whole lot of laughter along the way.

Andrea Chebeleu

Artist & Creative Director of Watch.Learn.Play Collective

Andrea is a creative guide who believes the best art happens when we let go and play. With a love for layers, mark making, and meaningful messes, she invites you to explore freely, connect deeply, and show up just as you are. She's here to spark inspiration and hold space for your creative unfolding.

    Surrounded by 5 serene wooded acres.

    Fly into PDX 
    You arrange your own ground transport to your accommodations

    • 3 lunches and 2 dinners cooked for you on site (included) - mainly vegetarian cuisine, with some fish and poultry added. (Please contact us with any allergies we can accommodate gluten free and vegan)

    • 1 lunch and 1 dinner offsite - together as a group
